  • In 1988, Globe was the first small business to win the Baldrige Award. Since then, it has earned the first-ever Shingo Prize for Manufacturing Excellence, Ford's highest award for Total Quality Excellence, and the U.S. Senate Productivity Award for Alabama.
  • Globe is a flat organization run by self-directed work teams; of the 175 people working in the Ohio plant, only 14 are managers. Training is driven by customer and/or team needs, and it focuses on skills that can be put to use immediately.
